Some of the guest artists featured with The Sound Of BlueNote have been Nigel Price, Alan Barnes, Mark Nightingale, Gilad Atzmon, Orphy Robinson, Ian Shaw, Dave O'Higgins and Jim Mullen.  These shows are always exciting, well-received and well-attended!

This is what some artists/promoters say about working with The Sound Of BlueNote:

NIGEL PRICE:  'There is a bunch of talented guys in the south, who are revelling in their faithful reproduction of some of the more rare 50's & 60's recordings. They sound great, they play great, and damn it they look great too. This classy act pays an unashamed homage to some of the giants of yesteryear, such as, Stanley Turrentine, Lee Morgan and Hank Mobley, and they do it very well indeed. Canadian sax man Terry Quinney and trumpeter Andy Urquhart deftly deliver intrigue and soulful lines in remarkably tidy unison and then dazzle with their virtuosic improvisations, all the while driven by top flight rhythm section. Don't miss any opportunity to see and indeed hear The Sound Of Blue Note.' - Nigel Price

ALAN BARNES:  'The Sound Of BlueNote takes its lead from the greatest jazz recordings on the iconic jazz label. However, this is no slavish copy! The band perform gems from a treasure trove of originals from the likes of Freddie Hubbard, Hank Mobley, Lee Morgan and others but retains an identity, impressively, of its own. Slick ensemble passages alternate with inspired solos to bring this exceptional material very much to life! This may be a celebration of a golden musical age but in a modern and very relevant context.' - Alan Barnes

Mark Nightingale:  'I'm always pleased to get a call to play with the Sound of Blue Note. The guys play with energy & commitment & the audiences always seem to love the music!' - Mark Nightingale

Gilad Atzmon: 'It was great, can't wait to do it again'

Andy Hague, promoter, The Be-Bop Club Bristol:  'Sound of BlueNote have become a firm favourite with our audience. Whilst avoiding the really obvious choices they play a great selection of catchy and accessible Blue Note tunes, introduced with a little bit of history and humour'
